Hi! I’m Nikhil.
I’m a teacher, musician, writer, programmer, journalist, some other things. Most recently I have been teaching a course on data journalism at City University New York, completing an album of folk songs from the future, and developing an improvised live dance music project.
Before this, I spent a few years reporting for Quartz, first as a data and graphics journalist, then as a writer on topics like language and the inhumanity of “tech”. Then I helped create and reported for Quartz’s video series Because China.
You can see specific things I’ve worked on at the work page, or an overview of my professional life at the CV page. For more on my artistic work, head to otherdimensional club, my digital garden.
