Who am I? (Or go home.)
I’m a writer, reporter, programmer, musician, some other things. I spent the past few years reporting for Quartz, first as a data and graphics journalist, then as a writer on topics like language and the inhumanity of tech, finally helping create and reporting for the video series Because China, and always mixing in some satire. My work at Quartz won numerous awards, including a SABEW, Malofiej, Information is Beautiful Gold, and multiple Data Journalism Awards. Along with my Because China colleagues, I was also a Loeb finalist.
Before Quartz, I was a data journalist for the now-defunct Australian non-profit news venture The Global Mail.
These days I am freelancing and making electronic music. Above all I like to learn.
